Your Mission, Should You Choose To Accept It

I made it onto the Have A Cute Day Blog! And the title of the entry is “Awesomeness” so how awesome is that?!

Moving on…

There’s been lots of talk in the comments about commiserating joining in on the 40+ Days of Exercise Awesomeness for Lent, which has me super excited to get started on Wednesday.   And the way I see it if you’re going to bust your buns for six weeks of Lent you might as well get some linky love!  (Plus it gives us all an easily accessible list so we can check in and show each other some support!)  That said, I know it’s a big commitment so I don’t want to call people out for participating if they’ve changed their minds.  So if you’re going to join in the fun please do me a solid and post a link to your blog.

This is your chance to put your goal out there for everyone to see. I know it seems scary but in the grand scheme of things 40 days isn’t that long, and if a slug like me can do it then so can you! And this isn’t a contest — if you miss a day here are there no one is going to send Jillian Michaels after you, I promise. The point here is to push yourself to do something that scares the bejeezus out of you. Be brave!

  1. OK, I signed up before I could think about it too long and talk myself out of it. Now I am quietly dealing with my own insanity! But this is good. Thanks FB, for helping me step out of my comfort zone. Now I need to shut the door to it and not eat the trail of breadcrumbs I’m leaving!

  2. Alright FB – I’m in! Even if it’s just a walk in the evening… 40 days of fitness. Give me strength! Or rather, get me strong. Sally (ps. My Tano Biker Babe is BLOWING MY MIND – I love it sososososos much)

  3. 40 days is certainly scary, but if you can do it I CAN TO! Bring it on!

  4. I’m totally stoked to join you in the 40 days of excercise for lent (for this non-catholic)! I just had a vacation and totally need to get back into the excercise routine!

i’m doing it. what a fantastic idea.
    I’m totally down.

  6. I’ve just recently discovered you… and love you already!

Instead of a New Year’s Resolution, I set a goal to work out every day in January. I missed 2 days.

So definitely add me to the list of the 40 Days club!! Giving up laziness for Lent!

  7. I’m in! I need something to keep me going after my running challenge is over. My motivation is at an all time high and I’m worried if I don’t have something external like a challenge to push my I’ll go back to sitting on a couch anytime I have a spare minute.

So why not just roll one challenge into another?

    Good luck everyone!

  8. This is awesome! I’m so excited to see everyone participating!!!

  14. I thought about it, and I’m totally in with joining you on 40 days of exercise. I have been a bit lazier these past couple of weeks, so I could use the nudge! I think it will really help me to get to my 30 pounds lost goal in the next month.

  15. Holy cow you guys are blowing my mind! THIS IS AWESOME!

  16. Im in!!!! WOOHOO

  17. I like the cute day blog and LOVE that you are on it. :)

I was just trying to decide today what to do for lent… is this it? I need to read more… what exactly do we do?

    • Mary – I’m doing 30 minutes of exercise every day for Lent (essentially giving up my laziness). Lent starts Wednesday and ends on Easter (April 12th this year). There’s no prize for participating or penalty for missing a day, just a big scary goal to work toward. :)

  18. Okay, so I have SO MANY THINGS to say to you today!
    1. You are AWESOME on the cute day blog! I adore you!
    2. I am PSYCHED about working out with you when you come to see us! We have have a little gym at our complex. We’ll rock it out.
    3. I just sent you an email. Full of secrets.
    4. Exercise for Lent? Hmmm…Sounds good. My other Lent promise is much scarier to mw.

Have an awesome night, babe! Happy Birthday Eve!

  19. I’d love to join everyone! I’m still kinda new to the whole blogging world, and I have to admit that I’m not very consistent (as with my walking through the gym door)…but maybe this will help change all that!
    Let the fun begin!

  20. Like any good Catholic or blogger friend, I’m in.

What’s the penance for screwing up? Saying 10 Hail Mary’s and scrubbing the rectory floor? :)

  21. I’m in, with my own twist on it. I already committed to an exercise regime but am now committing to reducing some of the things that I think are getting in the way of success. Yay, I’m excited to meet the challenge!

  22. Im in for the challenge too.
not sure what mine will be yet….

  23. After much deliberation . . . I am in! Even if it means walking to work instead of taking the bus to get my 30 minutes in. I’m determined.

This plus no takeout for 40 days is going to be quite the challenge. Thankfully, since it is Lent and all, I’ve got God on my side :)

  24. Hmmm…

You know, I keep meaning to ask my weight leader about this at Weight Watchers. Not so much your challenge, but about working out in general. Weight Watchers’ Momentum plan states “30 minutes of exercise *most days*” and I keep wondering what “most days” means.

I personally currently work out Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays in the gym for 90 minutes, then I do pushup challenge on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, (and Sundays on weeks when I have assessment tests, which will be every week now until I manage to do 100 pushups…) and then I do 30 minutes of Wii Fit 2-3 days a week, when I feel like it… But generally I have one day off where I don’t do any “official” working out…

I saw you on Cute Day, that was cool :-)

  25. driverslicenseweight

I will do 40 mins of movement, even if it’s broken up…DAILY until Lent is over!

    There…I said it!

    Thanks for the challenge!

  26. I totally need this. … Okay. I’m in.

    YIKES!

  28. I’m in, and since I am in Australia my 40 days have already started! Totally stoked to do this!

  29. Jen made me do it. I’m in.

  30. I totally heart you. I’m going to do this because I think it’s GENIUS! However.. I don’t think I agree that sex isn’t a good phyical activity. har har. Just kidding. Do you think that 30 minutes of playing Dance Dance Revolution on the Wii counts?
Oh.. I’ll have my blog shout out to you up before the end of the night!
